Top Gun Maverick reaches Paramount Plus Top 10 milestone

Top Gun: Maverick has hit an all-time streaming milestone, remaining in Paramount Plus Top 10 for two straight years after the film’s theatrical release more than four years ago, according to ScreenRant.

ScreenRant reported the movie’s streaming chart run as it continued to outlast typical sequel gaps of about eight years, even amid earlier skepticism around whether the follow-up could meet fan expectations.

ScreenRant said the film co-stars Glen Powell and stars Tom Cruise, with Powell portraying LT Jake Hangman Seresin as he trains under Cruise’s character for a new mission.

ScreenRant reported the production took 12 years to make, noting it became the biggest movie of Cruise’s career.

Box office figures cited by ScreenRant placed Top Gun: Maverick as the highest-grossing film of all time for both Powell and Cruise, bringing in more than $1.5 billion worldwide.

ScreenRant added Rotten Tomatoes scoring for Cruise’s catalog, stating the film is Cruise’s second-best-reviewed with a 96% Certified Fresh rating, behind Mission: Impossible Fallout’s 98% score.

ScreenRant further said Powell’s best-reviewed performance ahead of Hit Man, which holds a 95% Rotten Tomatoes rating.

Separately, ABC announced Jimmy Kimmel Live will air weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EST on ABC and published a schedule for the week of August 24 through August 28, subject to change, according to ABC.

ABC said Glen Powell appears as a guest host week for the show, alongside other guests including Jay Shetty and Henry Winkler, in the late-night lineup for August 24 to August 28.

Lastnighton.com reported Jelly Roll will replace Jimmy Kimmel starting Monday through Thursday as the summer guest-hosting run nears its end, with Kimmel expected back after Labor Day.

Lastnighton.com said Jelly Roll first hosts Monday, Aug. 24, welcoming actor Glen Powell and podcast host Jay Shetty, with Sara Niemietz sitting in with The Cletones.

Lastnighton.com listed Tuesday’s lineup with Henry Winkler, Leanne Morgan, and music legend Stevie Nicks, and it said Thursday’s guests include Leslie Mann and Bert Kreischer.

Lastnighton.com also stated Jimmy Kimmel Live airs at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC during this scheduled run.
