Emma Coronel detailed her first encounter with Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán at 17 during a party at a ranch in Durango, where he respectfully invited her to dance. The two married a year later in a private ceremony at her home and have two daughters.

Currently, Guzmán is serving a life sentence in a maximum-security prison in Colorado for his criminal activities, according to reports.

During a five-and-a-half-hour live broadcast on August 24, 2026, on the platform Kick, Coronel addressed public prejudices, urging viewers to know her before judging. She acknowledged losing followers after revealing her identity but said she remains calm and unaffected by the rejection.

"It's part of the show. Nothing happens, I don't get angry or irritated," said Emma Coronel, former beauty queen and mother of two.

She also discussed misconceptions portraying her as insensitive or superficial, which she firmly denied, reflecting on how public opinion often judges without understanding personal circumstances.

"Sometimes I read notes or see things that describe me in a way that has nothing to do with reality," she said.

Coronel explained that her streaming career began as a way to combat depression after her release from prison in September 2023. Starting with TikTok lives and moving to Kick, she found connection and distraction through audience interaction.

"I started streaming and began feeling like I had friends, a different type of courteous friendship," she shared.

She was arrested on February 22, 2021, in Virginia and sentenced to 36 months in prison and fined $1.5 million for conspiracy related to drug trafficking, money laundering, and aiding her husband's prison escape.

Her incarceration involved nearly total isolation, language barriers, cold conditions, and experiences of racism, which she described as harsh and challenging.

"You almost die of cold. Everything is metal. They give you a thin blanket, and you're not allowed more," she recalled.

Coronel also expressed interest in supervising a film or series about her life to portray her true story accurately, though she does not plan to act in it.

"I want to be involved in creative decisions to ensure the project is as close to reality as possible," she said, inviting viewers to a potential premiere.
