Writer Joins Lioness Room Hinting at Season 4 Renewal

Screenwriter Michael Idov has joined the creative team for Taylor Sheridan's hit military thriller Special Ops: Lioness as a writer and supervising producer, strong signals indicate the Paramount+ series is preparing for a fourth season.

The announcement comes as the third season of the CIA drama reaches its mid-season point on the streaming platform, with four episodes remaining in its eight-episode run.

Michael Idov confirmed his new role on social media, marking a major addition to the production team led by Sheridan.

"Lily and I have joined LIONESS, Taylor Sheridan's global smash hit, as writers and supervising producers," said writer Michael Idov. "An honor, chance, and challenge of a lifetime to write for the likes of Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, and Morgan Freeman. See you in the trenches."

Because Season 3 filming and post-production are largely complete, the addition of new writers indicates early development for a future installment rather than mid-season revisions.

Speculation surrounding the show's future increased following comments from series co-creator and executive producer Jill Wagner regarding the upcoming third season conclusion.

"We're going to get a Season 4. We will, we will. When people see what [Taylor Sheridan] wrote for the finale, we are getting a Season 4. Or I will pay you $100," said actor and producer Jill Wagner.

Unlike the self-contained narratives of the first two seasons, the upcoming finale will reportedly end on a cliffhanger, setting up storylines for subsequent episodes.

Paramount+ has not officially announced a Season 4 renewal for the series, which stars Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, and Morgan Freeman.
