Tracey Ullman Joins Ted Lasso Season 4 as Zelda Southport

Veteran comedian Tracey Ullman has joined the cast of Ted Lasso for its fourth season on Apple TV+, playing the role of eccentric sports investor Zelda Southport. Season 4 premiered on August 5, 2026, featuring Jason Sudeikis back as Ted after spending three years in Kansas City before returning to London to coach AFC Richmond's new women's team, the Lady Greyhounds. Ullman's character is introduced in Episode 4, "Greyhounds' Day Off," as a wildly unpredictable entrepreneur and managing partner of a firm that exclusively finances global women's sports.

Introduced as the keynote speaker at the Women's Football Business Summit, Zelda calls out male attendees before speaking to guests at a two-thousand-pound-a-head dinner.

The character's extensive investment portfolio creates a central rift between club executives Rebecca, played by Hannah Waddingham, and Keeley, played by Juno Temple. Keeley highlights the scope of Zelda's influence during a discussion about her global sports investments and entertainment pursuits.

"She bankrolls all these women's teams across the world. She has two football teams in Europe, a WNBA team, a professional ice hockey team, rugby. And she is financing the West End run of all-female Glengarry Glen Ross.

She does have to arm wrestle David Mamet for the rights, but I have all confidence," said Keeley, character played by Juno Temple. Zelda's arrival adds new business dynamics to the series as she claims to have invented the claw clip while building relationships with the Lady Greyhounds' leadership.

The 66-year-old British and American actress previously shared details about participating in the production during an interview on Radio 4's Woman's Hour before her character identity was officially revealed. Ullman joins other newcomers to the cast, including Tanya Reynolds and Jude Mack, alongside returning series regulars Brett Goldstein, Jeremy Swift, and Brendan Hunt.
