Osasuna Faces Levante in La Liga Season Debut at El Sadar

CA Osasuna hosts Levante UD on August 24, 2026, at El Sadar Stadium in Pamplona for their opening match of the 2026-27 La Liga season, following the postponement of Osasuna's initial fixture against Celta Vigo.

The match marks the official debut for Osasuna head coach Luis Miguel Ramis, who takes charge after an irregular preseason. Osasuna enters the campaign seeking to reverse momentum from last season's conclusion, during which the club lost its final five league matches.

Osasuna enters the contest with two confirmed roster absences, as Rosier is sidelined with an injury and new signing Rockson Yeboah remains unavailable due to pending registration documentation.

Ramis expressed confidence regarding his team's preparation despite the compressed schedule ahead.

The Osasuna manager emphasized the necessity for immediate competitive focus given their upcoming match calendar.

Ramis noted that the team would pursue maximum intensity without reserving players.

Levante arrives in Pamplona seeking recovery following a 3-0 loss to Espanyol in their opening fixture. Head coach Luís Castro's squad managed to process last-minute La Liga player registrations ahead of kickoff, including Brugué, Bardeli, and Thiago Fernández, who were named to the starting lineup.

Levante club president addressed the administrative pressure regarding squad registrations prior to the match.

"It was all at the last minute, with many nerves. We wanted to register everyone, we are with the peace of mind that we are doing things right," said Levante Club President, Levante UD.

The Levante president outlined the team's primary competitive goal for the campaign.

The Levante manager acknowledged the difficulty of securing points away from home in the league competition.

"It is clear that they have more information about us, but we have sought information about the team and the coach. A very important match for us because we already lost three points and we have to start adding. The points are very expensive for everyone.

Addressing previous roster delays, Castro noted the emotional strain on unregistered players prior to the deadline.

"The players who are not registered are suffering and we as a coaching staff, too. But we are going to have more registrations," said Luís Castro, Levante Head Coach.

Levante's squad adjustments coincided with the transfer of youth academy winger Kareem Tunde to English Championship side West Bromwich Albion for a reported fee of three million euros plus a 25 percent sell-on clause.
