Action movie Motor City debuts on digital video-on-demand platforms on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, offering home audiences digital purchases and rentals following its late July theatrical run, according to Decider and Salon.

Directed by Potsy Ponciroli from a script by Chad St. John, the 1970s-set revenge thriller stars Alan Ritchson as John Miller, an ex-convict and Vietnam veteran pursuing vengeance against a mobster who framed him and stole his partner, played by Shailene Woodley. Ben Foster, Pablo Schreiber, and Lionel Boyce round out the principal cast.

The script spent nearly two decades in development after appearing on the 2009 Black List of best unproduced screenplays, during which actors Chris Evans, Dominic Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Gerard Butler were previously in talks for the lead role.

The feature is distinguished by its near-total absence of spoken dialogue, featuring roughly five lines from opening credits to end titles, relying instead on physical performance, combat choreography, and an extensive soundtrack.

Digital distribution begins at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time on August 25 across platforms including Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home, with Amazon listing rental options at $19.99 and digital purchases at $24.99.

Though subscription streaming availability has not been officially confirmed, industry release patterns suggest the film will eventually stream on AMC+ around late October 2026 under an output agreement between Independent Film Company and the platform.
