Microsoft Launches 28 New Xbox Games Across August 2026 Lineup

Microsoft expanded its gaming catalog with a wave of 28 new title releases across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Game Pass scheduled from August 25 to August 28, 2026, as announced by the company.

The multi-day deployment features major franchise additions alongside indie debuts. Xbox Game Pass subscribers received immediate day-one access to select titles, including the 2D survival platformer Blood Dungeon from the creators of Nidhogg on August 25 and the story-driven adventure Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy on August 27.

Among the week's flagship releases is Star Wars Zero Company, a single-player turn-based tactical combat title from publisher Electronic Arts and developer Bit Reactor. Set during the Clone Wars, the game tasks players with commanding an elite squad led by former Republic officer Hawks. The tactical title arrives alongside the multiplatform stealth compilation Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, which preserves Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD.

Cooperative multiplayer combat also highlights the August lineup with Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2. The sequel expands team sizes to four Colonial Marines battling xenomorph swarms with enhanced squad mechanics and a new Specialist class. For sports gaming fans, Bandai Namco released Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters featuring 110 playable characters and special moves across 22 national teams.

August 25 releases opened with Blood Dungeon, Once Human, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, Apidya' Special, Cozy Tiny Home, and Funguys Swarm. August 26 additions include Aggelos 2, strategy RPG Brigandine: Abyss, Comfy Corners: Unpack and Decorate, Lizards Must Die 2, Mech Shelf, and Whisper of the House.

August 27 brings Star Wars Zero Company, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, Golftacular!, Horripilant, Infection Free Zone, Lou's Lagoon, Murders on the Yangtze River, and Tearscape. The rollout concludes on August 28 with 1964 Operation Velvet Twins, INK ENIGMA: Coloring Hidden Objects, Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge 4 Remastered, Once Alive, and Splash of Color.
