Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song Reflect on Decade-Long Relationship

Actor Macaulay Culkin and actress Brenda Song continue to build their life together after nearly ten years of partnership, following their initial meeting at the home of mutual friend Seth Green in 2014.

The couple's first interaction occurred shortly after the cancellation of the sitcom Dads, which featured Song and Green. Culkin attempted to lighten the mood regarding the show's end, though his initial humor fell flat with Song.

"She was thoroughly unimpressed by me is what I will say," said Culkin, actor.

Three years after their first introduction, the two reconnected in Thailand on the filming set of Green's comedy-drama movie, Changeland. During production, Culkin maintained a distinct personal style, comparing his appearance to Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean while smoking two packs of cigarettes daily.

Song noted that she looked past his public exterior to understand his true character during their time working together in Southeast Asia.

"I saw this person he put out there – it was a product of this armor that he’s put on to protect himself," said Song, actress. "But I could see that that wasn’t really who he was; I could see these glimpses of this really interesting, very sensitive, very intelligent, artistic person that he doesn’t really let show."

An insider familiar with the couple told Radar that Culkin's grungy appearance served as his method of maintaining privacy while in public view. The source explained that Culkin had spent years struggling with the intense public attention stemming from his childhood stardom in the Home Alone film series.

What began as a summer romance during the 2017 production eventually evolved into a long-term relationship. Former acquaintances observed that Song helped draw Culkin out of his prolonged public retreat.

"Brenda’s been coaxing Mac out of his shell, and she’s just what he needs now," said Source, insider.

The couple's relationship progressed further following the birth of their child, Dakota, leading to their subsequent engagement.

"Macaulay and Brenda have loved being together as a family since welcoming Dakota," said Insider, source.

In June, Culkin commemorated their nine-year landmark with a public statement dedicated to Song, reflecting on the time they have spent together since beginning their relationship.

"Today marks a very special day for me. It's been 9 years since my life changed forever," said Culkin, actor.

"It's amazing to think that 1 in every 5 days I've been alive I have had the honor of waking up next to the love of my life. My only regret is that we haven't had more time together," said Culkin, actor.

In addition to her ongoing acting career and family life, Song recently expanded her public profile by making a guest appearance in the broadcast booth for the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.
