Musician Jelly Roll targeted President Donald Trump during his guest-hosting appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Aug. 24, 2026, poking fun at the president's reported weight gain while highlighting his own 300-pound weight loss.

Stepping in as political commentator during comedian Jimmy Kimmel's summer break, the 41-year-old country star opened his monologue by addressing Trump's appearance at the IndyCar Freedom 250 Grand Prix held in Washington, D.C.

"Let’s talk about the main event of America this weekend. It was the big IndyCar race hosted by the president. The cars drove through the streets of D.C. and there’s Donald Trump, who apparently has never held a flag before.

What a s--- job. How do you f--- up waving a flag?" Jelly Roll said.

The host then turned his attention to the president's motorcade lap around the track before referencing media coverage regarding Trump's physical fitness.

"But the president seemed to enjoy the IndyCar race, which was a real switch up for him because normally he only likes his own race," Jelly Roll said.

"Trump also drove around the track in his motorcade doing what they call the lap of honor, which sounds like a loyalty program at a strip club. 5% cash back in the champagne room for all lap of honor members," Jelly Roll added.

"Sadly, those are the only laps Trump’s been doing lately," Jelly Roll said.

He expanded on reports from The Washington Post detailing concerns from medical professionals regarding the president's health routine following recent physical examinations.

"According to the Washington Post, a lot of doctors are worried about the president's weight. After his last physical, we found out Trump gained 14 pounds, which means he's now tipping the scales at almost 240. It's crazy," Jelly Roll said.

The singer, whose real name is Jason DeFord, contrasted the report with his own health journey after weighing over 500 pounds in 2024.

"Think about this, y'all. In the last few years, I've lost 300 pounds. That means I've lost an entire Donald Trump," Jelly Roll said.

"And let's be honest, based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing," Jelly Roll said.

Jelly Roll then played a compilation video showing Trump repeatedly using derogatory terms regarding other individuals' appearances throughout his political career.

"We shouldn't be making fun of the president for his weight because we know that he would never do that to other people," Jelly Roll said.

"If that ain't the pot calling the kettle fat. Well, Mr. President, from one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important. And trust me, you'll be happy to see your" manhood again, Jelly Roll added.

In July, Jelly Roll previously discussed his health journey on his vlog, sharing how stress-eating habits surfaced during his lifestyle transition.

"I can't have one anything. What I learned is, how you do anything is how you do everything," Jelly Roll said.

"I can't. It might be a five-day food bender for me," Jelly Roll said.

The singer filed for divorce from his wife Alisa DeFord, known professionally as Bunnie XO, on May 18, 2026, following a separation on May 9. Comedian Rosie O'Donnell also guest hosted the late-night program the previous week.
