A wave of high-profile celebrity weddings dominated the summer 2026 season, as entertainment icons, professional athletes, and public figures hosted nuptials ranging from intimate family gatherings to massive arena celebrations across the globe.

Pop star Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce hosted one of the largest events of the season on July 3, transforming Madison Square Garden in New York City for a ceremony attended by an estimated 1,000 guests.

"They have grass, carpets and canopies, and it looks like a place where you'd get married," an insider told PEOPLE ahead of the couple's wedding weekend.

The source added that a special stage had been constructed for the event. The couple exchanged 20-minute vows during the ceremony, which carried an estimated $20 million budget and featured an officiant and musical guests including Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, and Bon Jovi.

"There's a stage set up, but it's special," an insider told PEOPLE.

Kelce publicly addressed the nuptials on August 12 during his first comments about the event.

"The best night of my life," Kelce said.

International sports icon Cristiano Ronaldo married Georgina Rodriguez in a private civil ceremony on August 11 at their home in Cascais, Portugal. The couple, who met ten years ago in Madrid, held an intimate gathering attended primarily by their five children before sharing a photo of their wedding bands on social media captioned "C❤️G."

Singer Dua Lipa and actor Callum Turner kicked off the summer wedding stretch with an intimate ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London on May 31, followed by a second ceremony in Sicily on June 6. Lipa later shared photos on Instagram with the caption "Mr & Mrs."

Other prominent summer 2026 ceremonies included NBA player Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods in Malibu on August 15, Tallulah Willis and Justin Acee in Sun Valley on August 8, and actor Emma Roberts and Cody John in Idaho on July 25. Meanwhile, actor Paul Wesley eloped with Natalie Kuckenburg at a Santa Barbara courthouse after finding a last-minute cancellation.

"Mr. and Mrs. 💍 and the Best Boy Greg 🐾," Kuckenburg wrote in the caption of her post.

Wesley later explained the decision to skip a larger planned event during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"We were planning a big wedding, and then we were like, 'Let's just get legally married,'" Wesley said.

He noted that the venue had been booked for months before a sudden opening allowed them to proceed.

"We were waiting for a cancellation at the Santa Barbara courthouse, 'cause it's such a beautiful courthouse, but it was booked out for three months, and we found a cancellation the night before," Wesley said.

In the U.K., Zendaya and Tom Holland continued their wedding celebrations with a private party at the Beaverbrook Hotel in Surrey on August 4, following Holland's public confirmation of their marriage in June. Additionally, Peter Phillips, son of the Princess Royal, married NHS paediatric nurse Harriet Sperling in Gloucestershire, while Spice Girls member Melanie C married Chris Dingwall in Cumbria.
