Ben Affleck Dines Out With Children Following Birthday Celebration

Actor Ben Affleck dined with two of his children, 20-year-old Violet and 17-year-old Fin, in Santa Monica, California, on August 22, 2026. The evening outing at Fia restaurant followed recent celebrations for Affleck's 54th birthday alongside his family, according to reports by the Daily Mail and HOLA!.

Photographs from the outing showed Affleck wearing a light blue button-down shirt and black pants, while Violet wore a sweater paired with a bright red skirt. Fin stepped out in overalls layered over a shirt, accompanied by Vans sneakers.

Affleck shares Violet, Fin, and 14-year-old son Samuel with his ex-wife, actress Jennifer Garner. The former couple was married from 2005 to 2018 and has maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship.

A week prior, on August 15, Garner joined Affleck and their three children for a birthday gathering at Farmshop, a gourmet grocery store in Los Angeles. The outing was among Affleck's first public appearances following the death of his mother, Christopher Anne Affleck, who died at age 83 in June after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2025.

Affleck previously reflected on his parents' backgrounds and upbringing during a past media appearance.

"My mother taught public school, went to Harvard and then got her master’s there and taught fifth and sixth grade in a public school," said Ben Affleck, Actor. "My dad had a more working-class lifestyle. He didn’t go to college. He was an auto mechanic and a bartender and a janitor at Harvard."

Affleck's mother was raised in New York, studied at Harvard, worked as a public school teacher, and actively participated in civil rights movements as a Freedom Rider during the 1960s.
