UK Prime Minister Visits Kyiv to Share Cruise Missile Blueprints

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham arrived in Kyiv to announce an agreement allowing Ukraine to produce its own models of the British Storm Shadow cruise missile. The visit marks 35 years of Ukraine's independence from the Soviet Union. During his first overseas trip as prime minister, Burnham is set to chair his first meeting of the coalition of the willing, a partnership of over 35 nations supporting Ukraine.

He will also hold a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Burnham plans to reassure the Ukrainian public that British support will remain steadfast against Russian threats. The blueprints being provided will allow Ukraine to manufacture missiles capable of hitting targets roughly 150 miles into Russia, offering a crucial technology boost alongside Ukraine's existing deep-strike drones.

Meanwhile, military developments continued across the region. Commander of the Ukrainian drone forces Robert Brovdi reported that Ukrainian forces hit a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet in the Rostov region.

In southern Krasnodar, Russian officials stated that a children's center was struck during a Ukrainian attack. Russia's commissioner for children's rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, stated on social media that three teenagers were killed and six other children were hospitalized with injuries. Local governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported that the center was struck by drone debris. The Russian defense ministry separately reported that its forces intercepted 351 Ukrainian drones overnight.

Ukrainian drones also targeted three warehouses belonging to the Russian online retail platform Ozon across Adygeya, Makhachkala, and Krasnodar. Russian state news agency TASS reported several injuries in Makhachkala, though none were believed to be life-threatening.
