Philippine Airlines Expands Seat Options for Qantas Frequent Flyers

Qantas Frequent Flyer members can now redeem points for business class seats on Philippine Airlines, offering an alternative route to Manila and onward destinations like North America.

The partnership, launched in May, allows travelers to spend Qantas points on Philippine Airlines flights, with full alliance integration scheduled when the carrier joins Oneworld in 2027. Currently, passengers cannot earn Qantas points on these flights.

A business class seat from Melbourne to Manila requires 90,000 Qantas points plus $327 in taxes, according to flight booking details. A long-haul connection from Melbourne to Toronto via Manila costs 182,900 points plus $392.25, with wide availability across nearly 500 Australian flights over the next year.

Flight PR210 operates three to five weekly return services between Melbourne and Manila using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The flight features a staggered 1-2-1 seating arrangement based on the Thompson VantageXL platform, providing direct aisle access, massage functions, and lie-flat bedding.

Passengers traveling in business class receive a 40-kilogram checked baggage allowance, alongside an 18.5-inch inflight entertainment system. Inflight dining options include traditional Filipino dishes, such as chicken adobo, alongside cocktails like the Cebu Sunrise.

Philippine Airlines is also modernizing its fleet with Airbus A350-1000 aircraft and transitioning ground facilities to renewable energy as part of a commitment to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
