The Baltimore Orioles placed right fielder Tyler O'Neill on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, due to right shoulder inflammation stemming from a rotator cuff strain.

The roster move is retroactive to August 23. O'Neill sustained the injury while attempting a diving catch during Saturday's 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.

An MRI examination revealed the rotator cuff strain in his right shoulder. While O'Neill indicated uncertainty regarding whether the issue will require surgery, the injury threatens the remainder of his season and keeps him sidelined until at least early September.

To fill O'Neill's spot on the active roster, Baltimore selected the contract of infielder Luis Vázquez from Triple-A Norfolk. The Orioles will evaluate O'Neill's return timeline once he receives medical clearance to resume baseball activities.

Through 85 games and 260 plate appearances this season, the 31-year-old outfielder has posted a .212 batting average with 10 home runs, 23 RBIs, and one stolen base. O'Neill remains under contract with the franchise for $16.5 million through the 2027 season.
