Olivia Rodrigo Releases New Single Serena Joy Globally

Pop artist Olivia Rodrigo released her new single "Serena Joy" worldwide on August 24, 2026, via Interscope Records. The track debuted following an exclusive physical CD release at Analog Records in Orange County, California, on August 21.

The physical release in California gave local fans an early listen to the music eight days before Daisy Chain Fields, Rodrigo's sold-out, all-women festival scheduled for August 29 at Great Park in Irvine. Rodrigo co-wrote the track alongside her longtime collaborator Dan Nigro during the recording sessions for her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.

Described as angsty, urgent, and punk in spirit, the song carries strong protest energy. A portion of the net proceeds generated from the release will be donated directly to the Daisy Chain Fields Fund, which supports non-profit organizations and initiatives dedicated to women and girls.

The limited physical launch served as a tribute to the Orange County community while extending Rodrigo's support for independent record stores. Recently, nearly 200 independent music retailers held midnight sales for her third album, marking the largest Record Store Day-organized midnight sale event in over a decade.

The global digital premiere allows worldwide audiences to access the new track ahead of its live debut. Rodrigo is scheduled to perform "Serena Joy" live for the first time during her performance at Daisy Chain Fields on Saturday, August 29.
