Maine Meteorologist On Air Laughter Breakdown Goes Viral On WABI TV

A live weather forecast on WABI-TV in Bangor, Maine, turned chaotic on Sunday when meteorologist Patrick Osborn suffered an uncontrollable fit of giggles during his broadcast.

Osborn struggled to maintain his composure on air, attempting to cover his mouth and finish the weather update while off camera. Viewers heard him trying to regain control as squealing and rapid laughing sounds disrupted the transmission.

"I got a fit of laughter that I was not able to control on air," said Patrick Osborn, meteorologist at WABI-TV.

The unexpected disruption prompted a lighthearted reaction from the newsroom anchor during the live broadcast.

"Whatever happened to professionalism, Patrick?" said Josh Gabbard, anchor at WABI-TV.

The cause of the incident stemmed from a control room prank that malfunctioned behind the scenes.

"The rest is history, as they say," said Patrick Osborn, meteorologist at WABI-TV. "At least I’ll be known for something."

According to Osborn, a prank intended for Gabbard backfired on Monday, triggering a repeating sound effect similar to the character audio from the animated show Peanuts.
