HoYoverse Unveils Mythology-Inspired Co-Op Action Game Nodusfall at Gamescom

HoYoverse revealed Nodusfall, a cooperative action game inspired by diverse world mythologies, during Gamescom's Opening Night Live event.

The game features a fantasy world where legendary creatures from Eastern and Western mythologies coexist, depicted in a realistic art style. Players take on the role of a Weaver working with companions to fight against corrupted mythical creatures and restore order in a world destabilized by a mysterious force called the Dreadnodi.

Players must collaborate tactically, selecting effective Styles and skill combinations to overcome high-stakes encounters with twisted creatures. Success in battles yields resources to unlock new skills and weapons, expanding gameplay options.

The development team emphasized that Nodusfall's narrative centers around the chaos left by the collapse of divine authority and the impact of the Dreadnodi's corruption on the world.

"In Nodusfall, inspirations from diverse world mythological traditions impact the content you'll encounter, from the civilizations, the landscapes, and more that the team chose to depict in a more realistic art style. So you may have legendary beasts from Eastern mythology, dragons from the West, and more all in the same fantasy world," said the HoYoverse team.

The team highlighted the importance of teamwork for players to face the Dreadnodi and the twisted creatures they have affected.

"You play a Weaver, working with companions to help restore what order you can to the world after divine authority crumbled and left behind a certain chaos. You and your companions will fight enemies, try to recover whatever Divinity remains, and continue to work to restore order," the developers added.
