Garmin Launches Fenix 9 Series Featuring Pro Titanium and Solar Options

Garmin officially unveiled its Fenix 9 multisport smartwatch series on August 25, 2026, introducing standalone satellite communication tiers, full-titanium case construction, and upgraded 64 GB storage across five distinct product configurations.

The updated smartwatch family branches into the base Fenix 9, Fenix 9 Pro with AMOLED, Fenix 9 Pro Solar featuring a transflective memory-in-pixel display, and standalone Pro inReach models equipped with integrated satellite and cellular technology.

Hardware updates focus heavily on structural casing and display options. While the standard Fenix 9 maintains a polymer body with a titanium bezel, the Pro tier adopts a full-titanium build through its flanks and lug structure. The 51 mm AMOLED variant now houses a larger 1.5-inch display to reduce border area, while screen brightness on the AMOLED Pro models reaches up to 3,000 nits.

Internal memory has doubled from 32 GB on the previous generation to 64 GB across all models, accommodating expanded offline mapping capabilities alongside capacity for roughly 7,000 songs. Battery endurance ranges from up to 10 days on the 43 mm base model to 18 days on the 47 mm Pro inReach configuration.

The sensor array retains Garmin's Elevate Gen 5 optical heart-rate hardware, preserving established features like ECG, Pulse Ox, wrist temperature tracking, and multi-band GNSS with SatIQ navigation.

Software additions introduce ArcheryX for shot-timing metrics, Rowing VO2 Max estimation, and Garmin Epic, a tool designed to group multi-day excursion metrics and media into consolidated event summaries.

Garmin has also expanded availability for smaller wrists by reintroducing a 43 mm footprint to the Pro tier, alongside standard 47 mm and 51 mm sizes.
