She admitted during a debate to limited knowledge on national security, a mistake noted during the campaign but defended by Trump as honesty.

President Trump has invested political capital in her campaign, reflecting his continuing but challenged influence in Republican primaries nationally. His endorsement aims to boost her in what has become a closer race than expected.
