Coventry City clashes with Plymouth Argyle in the second round of the EFL Carabao Cup at Home Park on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The matchup pits the newly promoted Premier League side against their League One hosts.

Plymouth Argyle enters the fixture following a 1-1 draw against Wycombe last weekend. Head coach Tom Cleverley lines up his side in a 4-3-3 formation after previously securing a first-round Devon derby victory against Exeter City.

Manager Frank Lampard deploys a 4-2-3-1 setup for Coventry City, making tactical adjustments to manage player workloads. Coventry's lineup features J. Rudoni scoring during the match to establish a 2-1 lead against Plymouth.

Off the pitch, Plymouth Argyle confirmed a commercial agreement ahead of the match. Argyle Head of Commercial Keira Barkell announced that CT1 will serve as the club's sleeve sponsor for the cup fixture.

"We are really pleased that CT1 have agreed to appear on the sleeve again this season," said Keira Barkell, Argyle Head of Commercial.

The partnership expands the adhesive brand's visual presence on Plymouth's kit as they host top-flight opposition in front of their home supporters.

"CT1’s logo will adorn the famous Argyle green sleeve as we welcome a Premier League side to Home Park," said Keira Barkell, Argyle Head of Commercial.

The club leadership highlighted the ongoing commercial relationship ahead of the evening kickoff.

"Their continued support for Argyle does not go unnoticed and I want to thank them for furthering their partnership with the club," said Keira Barkell, Argyle Head of Commercial.

Sponsor representatives also reflected on the cup tie alignment ahead of the match.

"CT1 South West are proud, once again, to be sponsoring Argyle on what could be another legendary cup run. It is very unlike us to be drawn against Premier League opposition in a cup competition…!" said Neil Deakin, Director of C-Tec South West Ltd.

The commercial partner expressed expectations regarding the team's performance on the pitch.

"We are very much looking forward to seeing another topflight giant killing on our record whilst cementing what is fast becoming a significant partnership. Come on you Greens!" said Neil Deakin, Director of C-Tec South West Ltd.

Both teams continue their Carabao Cup campaign with lineups featuring heavy squad adjustments ahead of their upcoming league fixtures.
