Braves Sweep Dodgers Offensively With Walk Off Win at Truist Park

The victory clinched the season series for Atlanta (78-55) over Los Angeles (80-53), giving the Braves the direct tiebreaker in the National League postseason race. Before the game, Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts downplayed the critical nature of earning a top-two postseason seed and first-round bye.

"We’ve won through the Wildcard series. We’ve won with the bye, so I don’t think it really matters," Betts said. "I mean, if you want to make it matter, sure, but I mean, it doesn’t matter when you play.

You’re going to have to get timely hits and pitch, so there’s no secret or magic formula to it. It’s just about playing good ball."

The Dodgers complete their three-game series against the Braves on Thursday night, featuring a pitching matchup between Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Chris Sale, before Los Angeles travels to face the Detroit Tigers.
