Tsitsipas Faces Brooksby in Winston-Salem Second Round Match

Stefanos Tsitsipas will play against Jenson Brooksby in the second round of the Winston-Salem ATP tournament.

The match serves as a key preparation event ahead of the US Open, with both players seeking to build momentum on hard courts.

Tsitsipas, currently ranked 49th after climbing 33 spots since spring 2026, is the No. 7 seed in Winston-Salem. Brooksby, unseeded, recently won six of his last ten matches and defeated Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 6-3, 6-2 in the first round.

Tsitsipas holds a 211-125 record on hard courts, while Brooksby’s record is 55-44. Their only prior encounter was in 2022 at Indian Wells, where Brooksby won in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Tsitsipas acknowledged concerns about his form ahead of the US Open.

"It's a bit concerning," said Stefanos Tsitsipas, reflecting on his recent results.

He aims to surpass his previous Winston-Salem performance, where he lost in the second round in 2025.

Brooksby, who won his sole ATP title on clay in Houston in 2025, contrasts with Tsitsipas in style and technique, including their backhand grips—Brooksby's two-handed versus Tsitsipas's one-handed.

Tsitsipas’s match comes as part of a highly competitive field in Winston-Salem, which also features former US Open champion Daniil Medvedev.
