Pirates Edge Padres in 12-Inning Extra Frame Battle

Relievers Yuki Matsui, Kyle Hart, Mason Miller, and Adrian Morejón combined for five scoreless relief innings prior to the 12th frame. San Diego utilized six bullpen pitchers following starter Robbie Ray's departure, leaving the pitching staff stretched thin ahead of Tuesday's matchup featuring Michael King against Pittsburgh ace Paul Skenes.
