Gerardo Ortiz Denies Inviting Emma Coronel to BelicoFest

Gerardo Ortiz denied he invited Emma Coronel to BelicoFest at Los Angeles BMO Stadium after media attention and viral videos linked them during the event. Ortiz said Coronel was present independently and that he only greeted her briefly during the show.

Infobae reported that Ortiz directly rejected claims of a special invitation, saying they coincided at the venue but she was not his guest. He also said they did not share dressing rooms and did not spend extended time together offstage.

Ortiz told the media:

"No fue invitada mía, ella estuvo en el evento. Coincidimos por ahí, pero no fue mi invitada”.

SPD Noticias also quoted Ortiz denying a prior connection, adding that Coronel attended to work at the festival and that both met in passing while observing other performers.

Ortiz said:

Excelsior reported Ortiz stated he stayed in his dressing room with his own guests, and that he only saw Coronel during moments when artists and VIP attendees crossed paths.

Ortiz said:

"Estuve en mi camerino con mis invitados. Nos tocó verla, igual que al resto de los artistas presentes esa noche”.

Another claim Ortiz addressed was whether he spent time with Coronel behind the scenes, with Excelsior and El Clarinete writing that he said he did not accompany her in dressing rooms and that their interaction was limited to brief greetings. According to Excelsior, Coronel appeared as a VIP guest announced ahead of time on her Instagram, then surprised the audience by taking the microphone on the night of 13 de julio de 2026 to interact with attendees. El Clarinete reported she took the stage during BelicoFest, wore an outfit designed by April Black Diamond, and later shared moments from the event in Instagram stories.

El Clarinete and Excelsior both reported that Coronel performed “Las Tundras,” a track associated with Ortiz, and that videos showed security and backstage conversations that helped fuel the rumors. Despite the online speculation, Ortiz maintained that there was no prior agreement or pre-existing friendship or professional relationship connected to her participation, as reported by Infobae, Excelsior, and SDP Noticias.
