Chelsea secured a 3-2 victory against Fulham at Craven Cottage during the opening matchday of the Premier League season. Under manager Xabi Alonso, the Blues established early momentum with goals from Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers, and Cole Palmer.

The match opened with an immediate strike as Joao Pedro found the net just 30 seconds into the contest following an assist from Palmer. Fulham responded in the 23rd minute when Josh King scored an equalizer past goalkeeper Robert Sanchez. However, Chelsea regained the advantage before halftime through a 41st-minute goal by Rogers, assisted by Maxence Lacroix.

Five minutes into the second half, Palmer extended Chelsea's lead by scoring the team's third goal off a pass from Pedro. Fulham quickly narrowed the margin shortly after when Gonzalo Garcia scored from a rebound. Despite late pressure from the home side, Chelsea maintained the lead until the final whistle.

Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez remained on the substitutes' bench throughout the fixture alongside Valentin Barco. Fernandez's place among the substitutes comes amid transfer reports linking him to Manchester City, with Chelsea reportedly setting his valuation at 140 million euros.
