Anthropic Projects Total Addressable Market of 30 Trillion Dollars

Frontier artificial intelligence firm Anthropic plans to tell potential investors that its total addressable market could reach $30 trillion, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal published on August 25, 2026.

The $30 trillion figure represents the entire available pool of revenue within the category, meaning Anthropic would need to capture 100 percent of the global market to hit that number. The projection marks the most aggressive claim presented in the AI sector to date.

Earlier this year, SpaceX claimed a $28.5 trillion addressable market ahead of its initial public offering. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk made an unofficial assertion regarding SpaceX's long-term valuation target during the IPO process.

"More than the rest of Earth if we accomplish our goals," said Musk, CEO of SpaceX, regarding the company's prospective valuation.

By comparison, the 191 technology firms currently listed in the S&P 1500 generated a combined $2.4 trillion in revenue last year. Additionally, figures from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis show the annualized gross domestic product of the United States stands at $32.4 trillion.

Reports from Reuters earlier this week indicate Anthropic projects its own annual revenue to reach between $190 billion and $200 billion by 2028. That represents an increase from its current run rate of $47 billion, placing its projected 2028 revenue at roughly 0.67 percent of its total estimated market.
